Change ends, new game! Our Vacation starts now!

The FAI F3A World Championships are now over... full details on our Team's Blog at http://teamcanadaf3a2015.blogspot.ca/ ... so now it's time to swing into "VACATION!" mode
Here is my account as best I can remember, of each day's events. This is mainly for our family and friends and well, anyone interested :-).... here we go!

Sunday 16th

Up and at it this morning as we prepare to leave Zurich and start our week long journey around the neighboring countries. Our duties to the team have ended for now and we start our vacation portion today. With two separate couples traveling together we will work hard to stay in each others good books. 4 opinions for everything:-) but it will be fine I am sure!

We had a tentative meet time of 9ish and started loading the car up with all bags. Once loaded (everything fit!!! ) we headed out towards Reichenberg and beyond.

The weather was not great with rain and low cloud obscuring the mountains. We made our way into Liechtenstein and found the city center quickly. As it was only 11:20 on a Sunday parking was easy. We had a very nice lunch and checked out the Vaduz Catholic Church. Amazing stained glass. We also got a geocache and some travel advice from some people we met. The Austrian portion of the Autobahn required a sticker but it could also be circumnavigated as it was about 12 km long that we would travel. We also wanted a geocache for Austria as this was our only opportunity. We made a couple attempts at one cache but internet connectivity and lack of data on the cache itself worked against us. We had a nice tour of downtown....  A few times !

Vaduz Cathedral
Kelly converses with some starngers... they told us about the Austrian Highway.

Lots of art everywhere!
Very clean and bright architecture.
Gorgous buildings.
Kelly in country!

We headed out of Austria and back into Switzerland in search of another cache. We were disappointed as it was no longer there! Arghh. We set the TomTom to Friedrickshafen, Germany and away we went. As we were avoiding the Austrian toll roads we crossed back into Austria and low and behold Hartley said there was a cache around the corner. We had it in hand quickly and we're relieved at completing our mission (getting an Austrian cache!) Finally!

We went through Bregenz and followed the shoreline up the coastline to Friedrickshafen  and quickly found our hotel the Gastof-Rebstock . Is was very clean and much roomier compared to our Ibis accommodations. Best part was the great German beer that the drink machine dispensed!!

German decor.
We got some details on the Zepplin museum but due to the late hour and closing time we decided to wait until the morning.

We had a drink and then walked around the area caching as we went. We decided on dinner at the hotel and judging by all the locals in there, we choose wisely! Our food was good but Kelly's veggies didn't seem as fresh as she expected.  I was stuffed!
Gastof-Rebstock our hotel for the night.
After dinner we walked around to burn some "extra" calories and cached some more. We headed down to the lakefront and enjoyed the views and tranquility.

Back at the hotel we enjoyed a night cap and then called it a successful day/night and hit the rack.
